Thanks to exhaustive sampling of all useful articulations, dynamics, RR variations, and layers, Hydra gives you all the tools you need to create absolutely incredible guitar tracks. Some open-string sustain notes ring out for over 40 seconds! They not only have distinct and useful tones (neck & bridge positions), but their clarity and low noise floor is unmatched. These pickups put Shreddage 3 Hydra in its own class, even compared to our other instruments. We selected an “Iron Label” RGIF8 drop-tuned to low E for our guitar, and equipped it with Fishman Fluence Tosin Abasi Signature pickups. Now it’s finally done, and you can enjoy the ultimate rock and metal virtual guitar in your music. Our internal bar of quality was so high that we recorded the entire sample set three times in our pursuit of the perfect performances and tone. This is our vision of what a no-compromises, maximum-quality 8-string guitar should be. Shreddage 3 Hydra is the culmination of everything we at Impact Soundworks have learned in 10 years of creating virtual guitars. With two distinct pickups, 30,000+ samples, and over 50 included tone snapshots, Shreddage 3 Hydra is the most complete Shreddage guitar ever. But imho the choice of cab IR and amp sim are more important to get right first when it comes to using libraries and the overall sound. The ultimate badass 8-string guitar for rock and metal music! Write crystal-clear clean tones, screaming leads, or brutal chugs with incredible realism. *) I'm not saying all electric guitars sound the same - I just spent over 1000$ on a used guitar because it sounded much better for my usecase. Good luck either way! I hope you'll soon find what you're after and enjoy the whole journey! It's possible you'll come to the same conclusion. Personally I ended up buying real guitars to get the sound I want, because I found libraries to be too limited. If you want to use libraries instead of learning to play guitar, one or more Shreddage 3 libraries are probably the way to go if you want to stay flexible. Imho it would be rolling the dice when you buy a full collection outright on whether or not that was the purchase that you needed to make or not.Īsk yourself this, if you were to learn to play a real guitar, how many would you buy to get you started? I hope the answer is one, because it'll take some time to learn what you're actually looking for in a guitar. The benefit you get from having different guitar libraries that all follow the same sampling approach is rather small compared to other benefits you could buy for the same money *), and at your current point on your journey you very likely don't know what you really need for the sound that you want. If you like low-tuned stuff, I'd go for whichever of their libraries has the lowest sampled notes. If you like S3 stratus free, I'd buy one of their full guitar libraries and learn to use it properly and learn to dial in amp sims to get closer to the sounds you want. If you don't have a full version of Kontakt, I'd probably buy that first before you go for a whole virtual guitar collection. Fortunately for me, from my experience on this forum, guys were always able to help me out even when I wrote a mess of a post If needed I can try rephrasing my question. Or does owning complete bundle give vastly more options and versatility when trying to get the desired sound out of a library (and thus make up for paying extra)? Possibly with external amp/effect plugins, which I will likely need to get along the way in any case. I am wondering whether Stratus and Jupiter can cover much of what, for example, Hydra and Serpent also offer. Please excuse me for not being able to find a good way to phrase the question. With Shreddage 3 bundle I get the complete series for less than double the price. With Rock Band bundle I will get guitars which should get me going and give me plenty to figure out and learn for quite some time to come. Having no experience with Shreddage 3, I would like to ask for your opinion on owning few of the libraries vs. It so happens that there are 2 great deals on Shreddage 3 bundles up right now: I am a beginner and have no experience using guitar libraries.īut I sure know my ideas for orchestral/metal songs will need one (or few?).Īfter some research I figured Shreddage 3 series should do the job for me. I've been looking for an electric guitar library.
